A CRAZY DEMON ESCAPED!

That is precisely what is being rumored in the Underworld: it appears that a Demon (creatures forged from shadow, wearing iron masks with pointed horns and long black robes, ndt) has escaped from Hell, the place where they carry out their daily activities such as watching over damned souls or punishing deserters. Some wizard witnesses claim to have spotted a paranormal beast lurking near their homes. They attempted to capture the escapee, but failed.
Although everyone is now aware of the fugitive’s nature, in the speech delivered in the Underworld, the supreme Minos makes no statements of any kind—a clear sign that the investigations are continuing in absolute secrecy.
IT CAN’T BE MAGIC
«Given the superhuman speed of these creatures, it is not yet possible to perfectly reconstruct the facts» states Zack Night, a first-class female Magister leading this unfortunate investigation. «What is certain is that he was not helped by any accomplice. We find it difficult to imagine the reason behind such a situation. Let us remember that an event like this has never occurred since the Demons began sharing the supervision of souls alongside the Harpies»
And it was precisely to one of the latter that we turned next.
«Life in Hell is fantastic!» a Harpy confirms. «There are plenty of people to torture. If you tried asking any random Demon, they would answer in their own tongue that they would never want to leave this place. My hypothesis is that the missing Demon was instigated by someone».
A sensible consideration, though it’s a pity that no one had ever noticed anything strange about the fugitive before last night.
«There was nothing wrong with him. We were carrying out our duties just like any other day; perhaps I paid too little attention, I’m sorry. It’s a busy period with many new arrivals, and there is always a lot of work to do» declares a friend of the fugitive.
In this confusing picture, however, one fact remains clear: the fateful Demon was just an ordinary member of his species, until he decided to become a fugitive. But what could drive such a powerful and obedient creature to commit a crime from one day to the next?
«I am 100% certain that magic is not involved» exclaims Bruce Yeaster decisively, who despite his young age is an expert Alchemist. Why? «Because» Yeaster continues, «Creatures of that kind are superior to magic. The shadow can be defeated, but it cannot be bound by a constraint tight enough to allow someone to warp a Demon’s mind».
Confused? We are too.
MINO HUMILIATED!
Mino, meanwhile, is certainly not showing his face. In fact, some are even saying he has been “forced to look ridiculous!” The reason? In this morning’s address to the nation, there was not the slightest mention of the unprecedented escape. Why is that? Is he ashamed to admit it?
«Perhaps he’s embarrassed because his supposedly infallible security system isn’t so infallible after all,» says Arkazam, Sovereign of Hincipit, with a mocking jab at his colleague. Mino, however, offers no reply.
«What matters is that this affair does not involve any humans» simply adds Thòlinn, Sovereign of Paradise, sticking to the facts and maintaining a certain impartiality.
