THE BADDEST IN THE WORLD
And of course, there’s him: The Baddest in the World.
A truly peculiar character: he isn’t human, as you’ll read, but a stone monster. But what exactly is a stone monster? Nothing more than a spirit contained within a body made of various objects. For this reason, there aren’t only stone monsters, but also ones made of lava, bones…
His dream is the one every self-respecting villain has: to conquer the world. And to do so, he needs the Stone of Ages, a powerful object capable of making you the Lord of the Universe with just a touch
His real name isn’t actually The Baddest in the World, but Murdoc Gringeld. However, he never uses this name, as it seems he did terrible things in his past…
The Baddest in the World fights using the Thunderbolt (see in article “Magics and Tools“).
A charismatic character with a sharp sense of humor, though he may not seem very intelligent at first…
But who knows—he might find a way to prove otherwise!
He meets Annie (see next character) purely by chance, and he is the brother of Strix (see next character).
Distinguishing features: he wears a long black coat and a helmet with long purple horns.

ANNIE FLYINT
Annie is a six-year-old girl with remarkable, above-average intelligence. She always wears a pink tutu and loves unicorns and dancing, a sport she practices with her best friends Lucas, Ellenna, Jack, and Mag (see the following characters).
Like any ordinary person, Annie is completely unaware of magic—until The Baddest in the World shows up at her house under rather wild circumstances.
She often rides her skateboard.
She has a sweet personality, but can be quite determined at times. She never leaves her friends behind and possesses truly incredible determination.
Distinguishing features: all her neighbors call her “nosy” because she loves getting involved in other people’s business!

LUCAS BRIDGE
Lucas is Annie’s best friend, as well as her neighbor. He lives across from Annie’s large house on Evergreen Hill, on the outskirts of London. He is seven years old, practices dance with Annie, and loves speeding around on his emerald green skateboard. He never known his father.

OMAR
Omar is a boy who mysteriously appeared one day in Annie’s class. He wears large round black glasses, and his hair is naturally gray. He is seven years old and always wears a light blue jacket and gloves. Omar is so shy that he faints the day he meets Annie… could it be a crush?

STRIX GRINGELD
The sister of The Baddest in the World: she is also a stone monster. Strix is very intelligent, knows about magic, and can use it. Unlike her brother, however, she doesn’t consider herself evil and is far more compassionate than he is. Moreover, Strix is often the one who manages to bring The Baddest in the World to his senses. Her real name is Astrid Gringeld.

MALVAZARD
The villain of the story! Malvazard was once a knight like March (see next character)—in fact, the greatest of all knights! But one day, Crook (see next character), using his Forbidden Curse (see the article “Magic and Magical Tools”), turned him into a ghost suspended between life and death. Malvazard then learns dark magic and becomes a powerful mage, with a single goal: to take his revenge through the Stone of Ages!

MASTER SPOOT
Spout is a good wizard, but his magical staff was stolen and destroyed by Crook (see next character), and from that moment on he has been like a ghost, as if he were dead. When an important wizard dies, they become the protector of one or more families. Spout is therefore the Guardian Wizard of Annie’s family.
Distinguishing features: he is exceedingly kind and gentle, and wears a bright pointed hat and a blue robe embroidered with little stars.

TREVERER CROOK
Crook is a dark wizard. It is rumored that he became evil after the kingdom he ruled was razed to the ground by a dragon. He takes possession of the Forbidden Curse (see the article “Magic and Magical Tools”), and thanks to it he gathers an army of ghostly warriors and unleashes them against the knights of King Chapacan (see next character). He manages to kill Malvazard. He then tries to take possession of the Stone of Ages for personal reasons…

NANCY (WHITEHEART) KENNO
More than thirty-six years ago, Nancy Kenno—known as Whiteheart—was brutally murdered under circumstances that are still unknown today. She was found with her face completely burned, because her phone exploded in her face while she was calling her mother…
The story has since become a classic in horror tales.

ELLENNA WRIGHT
Annie’s best friend. She has a gentle soul.

JACK FOXVILLE
Mag’s brother (see next character) is a brilliant friend of Annie. Funny, outgoing, and always ready with a joke, he is in fifth grade when Annie is in first grade. He is also the son of two of the five knights of Chapacan: Ted and Emma.

MAGGIE (MAG) FOXVILLE
Jack’s sister. Her name is Maggie, but everyone calls her Mag. Her weapon is a comb, which she uses to carefully take care of her long red hair. Every now and then she and Jack argue, but they are just normal sibling fights!
She is also the son of two of the five knights of Chapacan: Ted and Emma.

FROZEN BARON
A solitary baron made of ice, surrounded by the Octopus (see next characters). He lives in an ice castle and appears to constitute something that The Baddest in the World is very interested in…

MR. BROWN
Mr. Brown is the mayor of London. He presides over bizarre meetings from time to time and is closely monitored by Matthew, his secretary (see next character), who seems to suspect the mayor of being involved in certain shady dealings…

SEKTHOR
Sekthor is a metallic serpent entrusted with a very important object. He will be the one to introduce The Baddest in the World and Strix to an entire story about the past of the Ice Baron’s castle, and to assign them a new mission!

KING COSMIC
A true tyrant. Some time ago, in the 1990s, he was the king of London, but the people were rebelling against his rule. To suppress the uprisings, he creates the Cosmic Symphony (see the article “Magic and Magical Tools”).

KNIGHTS OF CHAPACAN
They were five, and they are listed here in order of importance—from the strongest to the weakest: Malvazard, Emma, Ted, Dennis, and March. Ted and Emma are the parents of Jack and Mag, while March, together with Mary (see next character), Annie, and Emily (see next character), also plays a role in their lineage. Chapacan was the king of the kingdom opposed to the Nelsons (see next characters).

RICHARD TUCHOMORE AND SULLIVAN
The first one—Richard—is Emily’s riding instructor (see next character). One night, he is found with Sullivan dying in the Witchwood Forest, just outside London. The second one will die the following day. Richard is supposed to provide clues about the murderer, but it seems that everything happened under extremely mysterious circumstances…

EMILY FLYINT
Emily is Annie’s sister. She attends high school, so Annie often struggles to understand her, especially because she always uses very complicated words. She doesn’t believe in magic.

MARY MIGHT
Here is Annie and Emily’s mother. She used to teach at her older daughter’s high school, but she soon quit and changed jobs, becoming a police officer. She always supports her daughter in difficult situations and often worries about her.

EDMUND HAMYLTON
The police commissioner of London. In addition, he is like an uncle to Annie, so he often gives in to her requests to investigate. He is an authoritative man with sometimes strict methods. Annie turns to him to warn him about The Baddest in the World, but he doesn’t seem interested in listening to her!

CHARLIE MACHINE
Charlie is Emily’s boyfriend. He repairs video games at the bowling alley, which is why he and Annie met.

MATTEW KINGSLEY
The deputy mayor of London, who suspects that Brown is actually a criminal. He sometimes thinks he is wasting his life working for him. Will he end up discovering a truth, if there really is something sinister going on?

MRS SMITHSON
The dancing teacher of Annie.

MR EASTER
Easter is a kind old man who sold the skateboard to Annie and Lucas. He is always helpful and lives in his shop.

HIM & MINO
Two powerful dark wizards known as the Two Black Brothers. One of them is a mysterious figure, while Mino is the King of Hell (see the article “Magical Hierarchy”). The Baddest in the World eventually comes into conflict with him.

THE BADDEST IN THE WORLD GANG
Monsters of various kinds who follow The Baddest in the World. They are:
- Flat Head: a giant stone monster with immense strength;
- Dummy: a lava monster who is not particularly intelligent;
- Crest: a lava monster with a large punk-style crest;
- Skeletron: a skeleton without the ability to speak;
- Superhero: a superhero once saved by TBTW;
- Dog: The Baddest in the World’s evil dog.

STACIE GLEE
Annie’s dance rival. Stacie is so selfish that she is followed by a personal sleave.

NELSON’S FAMILY
Chapacan’s bitter enemies, a very noble family. Distinguishing features: all members are bald and have large protruding teeth.

PIX & VEX
“They are two Bathuman of the Hincipt (see article MG: Magical Gerarchy) who possess medical abilities.”

ALYN
A scottish Annie’s friend.
